Coimbatore: Upon the order of EC, 30 Flying squads and 30 Static Surveillance teams are working 24/7 in the district for the upcoming by-election to be held in Sulur on May 19.
Coimbatore: Upon the order of EC, 30 Flying squads and 30 Static Surveillance teams are working 24/7 in the district for the upcoming by-election to be held in Sulur on May 19.
Two Video Surveillance teams for each assembly constituency are assigned for supervising rallies and election campaigns. The election code of conduct is enforced in the district, after the announcement of the by-election for Sulur constituency.
Cash above Rs 50,000/- carried without proper documents will be seized by the flying squad and surrendered in the respective treasuries or Income tax department.
A release from the Collectorate noted that "An amount of Rs 8,32,160 was seized in Coimbatore district between April 22 to May 2. The amount is under the custody of the sub-treasury department and upon submission of proper documents, the cash will be handed over to the concerned people".
