Coimbatore: Ahead of the Sulur by election, Athikadavu Kousika River Development Association have released a list of demands to be carried out in Sulur legislative assembly constituency.
The waterway within Sulur legislative assembly constituency should be desilted and lakes and check dams should be strengthened and renovated.
* Waste water in the path of Kousika river should be treated and plants should be installed at the corner of this pathway and Kousika pond should be desilted.
* Arasoor-Ganapathipalayam branch waterway of Kousika river should be added with Avinashi-Athikadavu scheme.
* Water bodies in Chinniyampalayam, Neelambur, Mudhalipalayam, Arasoor, Kaniyoor should be added to the ground water treatment plan of the 2nd phase of Avinashi-Athikadvu scheme.
* New government hospital should be opened in Somanur with all the basic facilities.
* ‘Grey Cotton’ textile market should be opened in Karumathampatti.
* Somanur Railway Station should be upgraded.
* Drinking water and public toilet facilities should be ensured in Karumathampatti and Thennampalayam areas.
* Government procurement centre, warehouses and government arts and science colleges should be opened in Karumathampatti.
