Coimbatore : Federation of Tamil Nadu Agriculturalists Association secretary S Nallasamy called for a press meet here on Friday, to extend their support for Kathiresan, who is contesting in the upcoming Sulur by-polls as an Independent candidate.

He also discussed on the 14-point manifesto putforth by Kathiresan for the upliftment of Sulur. Nallasamy also proposed several recommendations to be implemented by the State and Central governments to save agriculture.
A separate commission for agriculture, filing of review petition and justice be meted out in Cauvery issue, modification of liquor ban policy, separate budget for agriculture, stop importing food items among others were proposed by him.
Nallasamy who is also the secretary of Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement also challenged that he would accord a prize money of Rs. 10 crore, if the government could prove that 'toddy' is harmful.
He also urged the people to vote for Kathiresan who stands in Coconut tree symbol. And, requested the voters to refrain from falling prey for cash for votes. "Today, the politicians will fall in your feet for votes; tomorrow they will cut your throat", he told.
