3 ATM burglars arrested in Coimbatore

Coimbatore : A burglar who tried to break open an ATM Kiosk near Kavundampalayam, on Friday night, fled after the facility's burglary alarm got triggered. The police acted swiftly and arrested all the three burglars today morning.


Coimbatore : A burglar who tried to break open an ATM Kiosk near Kavundampalayam, on Friday night, fled after the facility's burglary alarm got triggered. The police acted swiftly and arrested all the three burglars today morning. 

In a burglary attempt at one of the branch of Karur Vysya Bank's (KVB) ATM located near Kavundampalayam at 12 am on Friday, three unknown persons entered the ATM pretending to withdraw cash. After a few minutes, two of them left the ATM, while the person inside the ATM broke open the Kiosk machine with an iron rod that he had rid inside his shirt.



As his attempt triggered the burglary alarm, all the three escaped from the spot. However, after the burglary alarm settled, all the three persons re-entered the ATM and re-attempted to break open the cash dispenser of the ATM machine. 

As their attempt failed, the burglars erased their finger prints and fled the spot. 

The Thudiyalur police, who came to the spot after information, commenced an investigation with the help of the CCTV footages. 

The police after checking the surveillance footage for leads, confirmed that the burglars are Balaji, Bhuvaneshwaran and Rangarajan, who are auto drivers of the same area. 

Upon the order from Coimbatore SP Sujit Kumar, a separate team of police under the supervision of Inspector Balamurali, Sub Inspector Franklin, Head constable Raju launched a search hunt for the burglars throughout the night and arrested them within 5 hours. 

All the burglars had said to be in an inebriated state. The arrest of the burglars within five hours of the burglary attempt has been appreciated by the public and the police officials.
