Coimbatore : Snake rescuers on Thursday rescued a foot long Common Bronze back tree snake from a residential area at Nondimedu here.
The non-venomous snake that usually dwells in the plains is believed to have travelled to the hill town on a truck carrying construction material.

According to sources, it is common for snakes from the plains to travel to the Nilgiris on trucks and larger vehicles.
This time, it was the bronze back snake that travelled all the way uphill and was spotted by local residents. They had informed foresters who rushed in along with volunteers from the Wildlife and Nature Conservation Trust.
Snake rescuers caught the snake and later released it in the Kallhatti Valley.
