Coimbatore: DMK cadres are extensively campaigning in the Sulur legislative assembly constituency for Pongalur Palanisamy, the candidate of the Secular Progressive Alliance.
The DMK Deputy General Secretary, V P Duraisamy carried out campaigning among the sanitary workers of Sulur Slipper Colony. "Kalaignar is the one who waived the loans of the poor and brought in all the welfare schemes. With a good thought that the Arunthathiyars should become lawyers, doctors and engineers, Kalaignar brought in 3 percent reservation for them," he stated.

"Cable costs will be reduced once DMK comes to power. The 5 sovereign gold loan will be waived, and women self-help groups are not required to pay the loan back as ‘Rising Sun’ is the one who will be repaying the loans. The goal of the DMK Chief is to provide public welfare jobs to 50,000 women who have completed Class 10. The DMK Chief has also announced that road work jobs will be provided to the Arunthathiyar community men who have completed Class 10. Kalaignar is the one who provided free LPG gas connections.
But, today, Edappadi and Modi have increased the cost of LPG connections to Rs.1300. Once, DMK comes to power, the previous cost will be brought back. To enable all the welfare schemes to be executed, the Arunthathiyar community should vote for 'Rising Sun' and make Pongalur Palanisamy win by a margin of 50,000 votes difference," urged V P Duraisamy.

Following this, they campaigned at Kannampalayam panchayat and Peedampalli panchayat, along with party functionary Jeganadhan, District Youth Wing organizer Sabari Karthikeyan and many others.
