Elephant damages house in Kalayanur, rampages farms in the area

Coimbatore : A Straying wild elephant damaged a house at Kalayanur near Thadagam on Thursday.


Coimbatore : A wild elephant that had strayed into human settlements damaged a house at Kalayanur near Thadagam, on Thursday.

The elephant that had ventured out of the Reserve entered farmIands in search of crops, damaging crops in farms belonging to Kanthavel and Anandhan. In an attempt to search for food, it also damaged a house bringing down its door and the roof at the front of the house. 



Hearing the commotion, neighbours intervened and chased away the elephant.
