Nilgiris : The District Collector of Ooty, Innocent Divya inaugurated the flower pots arrangement work at the flower gallery in Government Botanical Garden, ahead of the 123rd Flower Show which is to be held from May 17 to May 21.
Nilgiris : The District Collector of Ooty, Innocent Divya inaugurated the flower pots arrangement work at the flower gallery in Government Botanical Garden, ahead of the 123rd Flower Show which is to be held from May 17 to May 21.
The Flower Show will be inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarlal Purohit. In preparation for the big event, the District Collector inaugurated the flower pot arrangement work at the flower gallery, today. About 200 varieties of flowers including Oriental Lily, Asiatic Lily, Inco Marygold, French Gold are arranged in more than 15,000 flower pots. Over 20,000 flower pots are to be placed for the Flower Show.
Addressing the media, the District Collector Innocent Divya said, "Since the tourist inflow is expected to increase this year, special arrangements are being carried out to ensure free flow of vehicles. The police are carrying out necessary measures and tourists coming into Nilgiris should adhere to traffic rules and travel safe. Tourists should avoid bringing plastic bags and should not throw garbage on roads, " she added.
Cultural events were held to mark the inaugural event.
