Locals, tourists hampered by slow work on Ooty bus stand expansion project

Nilgiris : Two years ago, the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami who inaugurated the Ooty Flower Show had announced Rs.2 crore rupees to be allotted for modernization of the Ooty central bus stand. Following this, the foundation stone was laid for the project and work had commenced during the M.G.R Centenary function.

But since then, work has only continued at a slow pace. Due to lack of power supply at the bus stand during night hours, local bus passengers, the elderly and tourists undergo obstacles at the bus stand while waiting for and boarding buses. Hence the public have urged the District administration and the Transport Department to take necessary action to speed up the work.
