Named Target Zero Plastic, the team comprising largely of youth aims to clean the plastic from the ghat road and make the habitat cleaner for the animals.
They had started their weekly cleanup drive in the second week of June in 2018 and have been continuing for 46 weeks until last Sunday along with the help of the Forest Department.
Around 10 bags of plastic waste was removed from the second hairpin bend area. The volunteers used long ropes to tie themselves while reaching steep slopes. With more plastic littering the area, they are poised to continue the drive in the same area next week
