Life-threatening surgeries performed under CM insurance scheme save three patients at Coimbatore GH

Coimbatore : Three patients who suffered from blood vessel inflammation were successfully treated by the team of doctors from Coimbatore Government Hospital.

Coimbatore : Three patients who suffered from blood vessel inflammation were successfully treated by the team of doctors from Coimbatore Government Hospital. 

Dhanalakshmi (65) of Negamam, Selvi (55) of Karamadai and Sivachchalam of Koduvaai were diagnosed with inflammation of blood vessels in their brain. A team of neuro surgeons, Dr. Balamurugan, Dr. Hindhunesh and Dr. Santha Arulmani headed by Dr. Venkatesh, head of the department operated on the patients under the Chief Minister's comprehensive insurance scheme. 



Speaking on this, CMCH Dean Ashokan said, "Inflammation of blood vessels are life threatening. The condition forms due to several reasons but mainly due to high blood pressure and diabetes.Though treatment options are available, patients hailing from poor families cannot afford the cost of the treatment which varies between 5-10 lakhs. All three patient were completely operated free of cost under Chief Minister’ comprehensive insurance scheme".
