Thirunavukkarasu, Sabarirajan, Sathish and Vasantha Kumar are the prime accused in the case. Following many accusations that sons of major political leaders are connected to this crime, the case had been transferred to the CB-CID on March 16.
The CB-CID continued the investigation and the CB-CID Superintendent of Police, Nisha Parthiban who probed the case investigated many witnesses. All statements were recorded, following which all the documents in connection to the case were sent for a forensic test. Meanwhile, the police also registered a case against Bar Nagaraj, Babu, Senthil and Vasanth for attacking the brother of the girl who filed the first complaint. Apart from Bar Nagaraj, all others have been remanded in prison.
In the search conducted by CB-CID at the houses of the arrested, they seized laptops, pen drives and other accessories. Based on the statement from Manivannan who surrendered to the police, a rape case has also been registered against them. Meanwhile, on April 27, in connection to this case, the CBI registered two cases under 10 different sections. Hence, all documents connected to this case has now been handed over to the CBI, today.
