Coimbatore: With the Sulur assembly by-election fast approaching, parties are busy working their way to reach out to people. The AIADMK party held an introductory meeting for their candidate V.P Kandhasamy who has been fielded in Sulur.

Speaking on the occassion, State Rural Development Minister S.P.Velumani said, "Since MGR's period, Sulur has been AIADMK's fort. Edapaadi K. Palaniswami's government has implemented numerous welfare schemes for the welfare of the people. We are seeking votes by citing the welfare schemes implemented by us. To the contrary, DMK leader Stalin seeks vote from people by promising schemes to be implemented".
"Our alliance will win in all 39 lok sabha seats and 22 assembly seats", the Minister said.
Speaking about AIADMK's candidate Kandhasamy , the Minister said, " Kandhasamy is a very humble person, everyone likes him. Pongalur Palanisamy is contesting the elections only for recognition. Hence, people will cast their votes for AIADMK in Sulur by-polls. Kandhasamy will win with one lakh margin. Every member of AIADMK should consider himself as the candidate and work for the party''.
Velumani also stated that the local body elections will be conducted after the by- elections.
