Coimbatore : An argument broke out between Venugopal, an AIADMK ex-Councillor and police after he attempted to take some voters who were blind along with him to the polling booth.
Venugopal, ex-councillor of ward no:100 at Podanur in Coimbatore reportedly attempted to enter the polling booth in Mettur with some voters who were blind saying that he was helping them to cast their votes. At that time, policemen and electoral officials stopped him, refusing to let him in. Venugopal argued at the spot saying that they were AIADMK cadres and he was just aiding them in casting their votes.
Following this, electoral officials assured the ex-Councillor that they would help the blind voters, after which Venugopal left the premises.
