Helicopter deployed to douse fire near Coonoor

The Nilgiris : The Forest Department in Nilgiris had to resort to chemical spraying from an helicopter to douse the fire that broke at Saravana Hills near Coonoor.


The Nilgiris : The Forest Department in Nilgiris had to resort to chemical spraying from an helicopter to douse the fire that broke at Saravana Hills near Coonoor. 



The Saravana Hills near Coonoor was shrouded with smoke for the past three days due to minor fire breakouts. 



Being a dense forest region, the Forest Department had to seek the help of the Sulur Air Force to douse the fire. An helicopter from the Sulur base sprayed chemicals and brought the fire under control.
