Speaking on this, the Deputy Commissioner of the Labour Department for Nilgiris, Gopala Krishnan said, "Lok Sabha elections and by-elections for legislative assembly constituencies will be held on April 18. With regard to this, daily wage workers, temporary and contract workers of all shops and commercial complexes, and employees of private companies should be given paid leave on that day as noted in the government order."
"The control room of the Labour Department has been opened in Nilgiris where complaints can be made to the different officials - Deputy Commissioner of the Labour Department on 9444116563, the Sub Inspector of Labour Department for Coonoor and Kotagiri, Ranilakshmi Bai on 9489361802 and the Sub Inspector of Labour Department for Gudalur, Padmavathi on 9952833541," he added.
