Coimbatore : In an effort to conserve River Noyyal, the Water Man of India, Rajendra Singh advised people to construct more check dams on the streams in the river.

Visiting the springs and streams that lead to the river, Rajendra Singh reiterated that natural materials to construct check dams is also important. "Identify important parts where the river flow is too fast and use natural material like rocks, invasive plants and stones to construct check dams in such areas,” he stressed.

Sharing how he was instrumental in conserving rivers in Rajasthan, Rajendra Singh also shared insights about river conservation. He visited the River Noyyal’s origin along with the members of Kovai Kulangal Pathukaappu Amaippu and Siruvani Vizhudhugal on Sunday.

He also interacted in a session organised by the Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore that same evening.
