The Nilgiris: A lone wild tusker has been doing the rounds on Kotagiri roads at night.

Farmers in the area fear to venture out to even pluck tea leaves which is their livelihood. The fear has been created due to the lone elephant's constant visits to surrounding farmlands.

Even though the tusker reportedly goes back into the forest region during the day, it has made a habit of taking a jaunt along the Kotagiri roads at night causing panic among the public, tourists and commuters using these roads. People in this area have requested the forest department to help lead the lone tusker back into deep forest regions before there could be any casualty among people.
