Coimbatore: The election flying squad have seized Rs 1.2 crore in Mettupalayam on Monday.
During a vehicle check, the flying squad intercepted a private security van at Thekkampatti, Mettupalayam, on Monday and found Rs. 1.2 crore cash. During interrogation, the occupants of the van claimed that the amount was taken to a nearby ATM.
As they did not possess required legal documents, the cash and the van was confiscated and handed-over at Mettupalayam taluk office. After due investigation, the amount was handed over to the treasury.
