While campaigning near the Mettupalayam bus stand, the CM said, "This election is to choose a static government and a powerful Prime Minister for our nation. So, once again, people should vote for Narendra Modi. A Raja of DMK who is about to contest in the Nilgiris parliamentary constituency has gone to Tihar jail in the 2G spectrum when he was the Central Minister. Kanimozhi is also the other who went to prison.
A Raja is the one who could corrupt even the air which is invisible to the eyes. Both went to prison when the DMK was in power in the State and Congress was in power at the Centre. M K Stalin thought of destroying our party after the demise of Jayalalithaa. They brought a no confidence motion against us.
The DMK MLAs also behaved atrociously by dancing on the benches in the Assembly. After we won the no confidence motion, M K Stalin went down the street tearing his shirt," he recalled, slamming the DMK cadres for their actions in the past.
"The election manifesto of DMK seems to have been released for Assembly elections. They cannot ask for votes among people by stating their reforms when in power because they actually did nothing when in power. But, we are asking votes by pointing to all the good things we did for people," said Edapaddi Palaniswamy.'
Minister SP Velumani and other AIADMK members were also present during the campaign.
