Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy was in the Nilgiris over the weekend to campaign for the AIADMK candidate Thiyagarajan in Nilgiris.
While he was enroute to Ooty after campaigning in Coonoor, four teams of the flying squad checked his convoy at Yellanahalli and confiscated Rs.17,11,853 from one of his vehicles.
Since no proper documents were provided, the cash was taken to the Ooty taluk office. It is said that the amount belongs to a private factory in Yellanahalli but no documents have been provided yet.
