The Nilgiris : Elephant Vinayakan who was captured from Coimbatore and released in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve has been caught roaming in residential areas in Gudalur in the Nilgiris.
While people had initially claimed that the animal was found roaming in human habitations adding that it was damaging crop, foresters had remained silent on the issue.
However, the movement of Vinayakan had been caught in CCTV footage creating panic among villagers who have requested the department to take stern actions in the issue.
