Coimbatore: Special DGP (Law and Order) Vijaya Kumar held a high-level meeting in Coimbatore on Saturday to ascertain the preparedness and review the situation at four constituencies - Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris and Erode, ahead of the upcoming general elections to be held on April 18.
Coimbatore: Special DGP (Law and Order) Vijaya Kumar held a high-level meeting in Coimbatore on Saturday to ascertain the preparedness and review the situation at four constituencies - Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris and Erode, ahead of the upcoming general elections to be held on April 18.

The meeting was attended by all senior police officers from the region, including the West Zone, IG K. Periaiah, City Commissioner, Sumit Sharan, SP, Sujith Kumar and all commissioners of Nilgiris, Erode and Tirupur.

“During the review meeting, DGP Vijay Kumar addressed several key issues like law and order situation and measures to be taken at sensitive polling booths in all four constituencies".

He advised the senior police officers to hold meetings in their districts with their subordinates to ensure proper allotment of police force at all polling booths, especially at the booths that are identified as 'sensitive' to avoid any untoward situation.
