As per the orders from the district superintendent of Police Sujit Kumar, the special teams were formed to nab the culprits. The Police are also scrutinising the CCTVs installed in the area.
The parents of a college student from Ottanchathiram had filed a missing complaint of their daughter with the Kattoor Police Station, in Gandhipuram here, on Friday.
According to initial reports, the girl had left from her college at 1:30 pm on Friday to her home in Ottanchathiram. However, her parents were worried, as she did not not reach on time and hence enquired with the college. As they could not trace their daughter, the parents filed a missing complaint at the Kattoor police station here. The Police immediately commenced the investigation and alerted the other stations by sending the photograph of the missing college student.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the police retrieved the corpse of the missing girl dumped inside a large bush on the Pollachi-Dharapuram road. Police said that they found the woman murdered with her throat slit.
The body has been kept at Pollachi GH and expected to be brought for autopsy to Coimbatore GH.
