Kerala: Sreedhanya Suresh, an Adivasi girl from Wayanad, Kerala has cleared the Civil Services examination. She is to be appointed as the Collector of Wayanad, soon.
Sreedhanya is from Tholuvanna village of Wayanad, Kerala. She prepared for the Civil Services Examination by continuing to live in her house which did not even have basic facilities like power supply. Her parents sent her to appear for the Civil Services Examination held in New Delhi with money collected from their relatives. After returning, Sreedhanya continued as a daily wage worker.
Meanwhile, even as the Civil Services exam results were announced today, Sreedhanya was declared to have cleared the examination securing the 410th rank. She is now about to be appointed as the first Adivasi woman collector of Wayanad.
Lauding Sreedhanya Suresh, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi who is contesting from the Wayanad constituency tweeted, "Ms. Sreedhanya Suresh from Wayanad is the first tribal girl from Kerala to be selected for the Civil Services. Sreedhanya’s hard work and dedication have helped make her dream come true. I congratulate Sreedhanya and her family, and wish her great success in her chosen career."
