Track maintenance works between Coimbatore and Podanur railway stations will lead to the short termination and diversion of the Ernakulam–Patna Weekly Express and five other train services between September 11 and 14.
Coimbatore: Track maintenance and engineering works between Coimbatore and Podanur railway stations will result in changes to the operation of six train services between September 11 and 14, including the short termination of two trains at Podanur Junction and the diversion of other services.
The changes have been announced to facilitate maintenance works on the Coimbatore–Podanur section.
Train No. 16766 Tuticorin–Mettupalayam Bi-weekly Express, leaving Tuticorin on September 10 and 12, will be short terminated at Podanur Junction on September 11 and 13 respectively. The service will not operate between Podanur and Mettupalayam on those days.
Similarly, Train No. 06030 Tirunelveli–Mettupalayam Weekly Special, leaving Tirunelveli on September 13, will be short terminated at Podanur Junction on September 14. The train will not operate between Podanur and Mettupalayam.
Meanwhile, Train No. 16619 Podanur–Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express, scheduled to depart from Podanur Junction at 6.15 a.m., will instead originate from Coimbatore Junction at 6.35 a.m. on September 12.
Train No. 22669 Ernakulam–Patna Weekly Express and Train No. 22852 Mangalore–Santragachi Vivek Weekly Express, both leaving on September 12, will be diverted via Podanur and Irugur on September 13. Both trains will skip their scheduled stoppage at Coimbatore Junction and instead halt at Podanur Junction.
The Ernakulam–Patna Weekly Express will halt at Podanur Junction from 4.35 a.m. to 4.40 a.m., while the Mangalore–Santragachi Vivek Weekly Express will stop from 6.24 a.m. to 6.27 a.m.
Similarly, Train No. 20604 Nagercoil–New Jalpaiguri Amrit Bharat Weekly Express, leaving on September 13, will be diverted via Podanur and Irugur on September 14, skipping Coimbatore Junction. The train will be provided an alternative stoppage at Podanur Junction from 6.32 a.m. to 6.35 a.m.
