Coimbatore : An auto-rickshaw driver, who spotted an injured spotted deer near his residence at Chinnajambukandi in Anaikatti here, rescued the animal and admitted it at a veterinary hospital in Anaikatti.
Coimbatore : An auto-rickshaw driver, who spotted an injured spotted deer near his residence at Chinnajambukandi in Anaikatti here, rescued the animal and admitted it at a veterinary hospital in Anaikatti.
The Good Samaritan Vellingiri was on his way to work when he spotted the female deer lying near his house. He had approached the animal carefully and found that it had been injured on its neck and hind legs.
“The deer was lying on the ground and was unable to walk. It could have been chased and attacked by stray dogs and required immediate treatment,” he said.
Vellingiri had immediately rescued the animal and had taken it to the veterinary hospital at Anaikatti on his vehicle and informed the forest officials.
The animal was administered with first aid and was later let inside the Gobanari reserve forest in Periyanaickenpalayam Range.
