"Polling booths are installed as per the guidance of the Election Commission. The Election Officer, Deputy Election Officer and Additional Deputy Election Officer are monitoring the voting booths directly. There are totally 12,686 differently abled voters in the district. Basic facilities like drinking water, electricity and toilets are created in 3070 polling booths for differently abled voters. Also wheelchairs will be kept in all polling booths, if needed. Additional wheelchairs will be brought from NGOs and private hospitals," said Rajamani.

"Being summer, we are planning to install a temporary shed or 'shamiana' for them to relax. These activities will be finished on the day before the Election Day. The polling booth officers should help the differently abled voters in casting their votes. We have also insisted on polling booth officers helping the hearing impaired and mute voters to vote by explaining in sign language,” detailed the District Collector.
