Coimbatore : Addressing a large campaign rally in Mettupalayam, Deputy Chief Minister O Paneerselvam slammed the DMK Chief saying, "DMK leader Stalin is spreading baseless allegations about us.

If he continues doing so, we will proceed legally against him. He is accusing that EPS and OPS jointly immolated Tamil Nadu, but due to family issues the DMK set themselves on fire. The judgement for that has been delivered now because people are aware that the DMK is a party of violence.
Stalin has thrown three false allegations upon our Minister S P Velumani. Already, Velumani has challenged whether Stalin will resign his post as DMK Chief if those allegations are disproved. Minister Velumani has also said that he is ready to resign as Minister if the allegations against him are proved true. But Stalin has not responded to that challenge."
O Paneerselvam is in Mettupalayam, campaigning for the AIADMK candidate M Thiyagarajan who is contesting from the Nilgiris constituency. "The Tamil Nadu Government announced Rs.2000 to farmers who were in distress, owing to the failure of monsoons. The DMK stalled this project intentionally by going to Court. I assure you that this stay on the project will be crushed legally and we will distribute Rs.2000 to the farmers."
