Coimbatore: "A total number of 14,724 polling booth staffs have been appointed for 3070 polling booths in 10 parliamentary constituencies for the upcoming Parliamentary election in Coimbatore", said a release from the District Collectorate.

Allotting election duties for these staff through the randomization method commenced at the Collectorate, today which was supervised by the District Collector K.Rajamani along with election supervising officers, Renu Jayabal IAS (Coimbatore) and Subir Kumar IAS (Pollachi). Also, EVM’s and VVPAT machines were allotted to the respective conatituencies.
“3070 polling booths have been identified at the 10 parliamentary constituencies in Coimbatore District. The basic amenities required for the polling booths are being arranged by the officials. One officer and 3 supporting staff, a total of 4 officers will be appointed for every polling booth on April 18, the election day.
Appointment orders for election duty will be sent to the election officers from their respective department higher officials. The second phase of training for these staff will be conducted on April 4 at all 10 constituencies. All election staff are advised all the staff to participate in the training program", the Collector said.

"A total number of 2453 EVM’s and 2650 VVPAT machines has been alloted to Coimbatore and 2030 EVM’s and VVPAT’S has been sent to Pollachi constituency” reiterated the Collector.
