Coimbatore: The Singanallur Police have arrested two men for selling ganja to college students in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The Singanallur Police have arrested two men for selling ganja to college students in Coimbatore.
Led by the Singanallur Police Inspector Anandh and Sub-Inspector Arjun, the team which had been conducting vehicle checks near Singanallur today, interrogated two men in a two-wheeler who looked suspicious. During the interrogation, the police seized 8 kg of ganja from them.
Following this, the police took them to the police station for investigation. The men have been identified as Kadhiresan (35) of Avinashi and Kadhir Raja (37) of Thennampalayam, Tiruppur.
According to the police, it was during the investigation that the men confessed to selling ganja to college students. The police have registered a case against them.
"Ganja and other drug abuse is widely prevalent among college students in Coimbatore. So, the management of schools and colleges should partner with the police and conduct awareness programs for students," opined social activists.
