Coimbatore: Santhosh Kumar (34) who was arrested on charges of raping and murdering the minor girl in Pannimadai was subjected to a medical examination at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) today.
Coimbatore: Santhosh Kumar (34) who was arrested on charges of raping and murdering the minor girl in Pannimadai was subjected to a medical examination at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) today.
After the medical examination which went on for nearly an hour, Santhosh Kumar was taken to the police jeep amidst heavy posse of policemen guarding the accused. However, the enraged public who were present at the CMCH attempted to attack him but the police managed to guard him and drive away in the jeep.
Tense situation prevailed at the spot until people were dispersed.
The seven-year old girl was found raped and murdered in the backyard of her house in Pannimadai on March 26 after he went missing the previous day.
Police had arrested Santhosh Kumar in connection to this heinous crime who presently is under judicial custody.
