Coimbatore : To commemorate World Health Day and to create awareness among city dwellers about the importance of wellness, a group of health enthusiasts in the city with the support of Arya Vaidya Pharmachy is organising a mega marathon under the banner 'AyuRun' on April 7, here in the city.
Coimbatore : To commemorate World Health Day and to create awareness among city dwellers about the importance of wellness, a group of health enthusiasts in the city with the support of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy is organising a mass marathon under the banner 'AyuRun' on April 7, here in the city.
To mark the launch of Kovai Arokkiya 2019, this 5.5 km run is being organised to create a healthier Coimbatore through Ayurveda. The theme of this run is 'How to Prevent Disease and Reduce Footfalls in Hospitals.'
The 5.5 km run will begin from Cosmopolitan Club in Racecourse and go anti-clockwise around Racecourse through the Collector's bungalow, Big Bazaar, Sungam, Carmel Garden, Puliyakulam, Red Fields, Thomas Park and conclude at the Cosmopolitan.
Additionally, a diabetes detection camp is being arranged by the Diabetes and Metabolic Disease Clinic of AVP Research Foundation. to facilitate early detection and drug-free management of diabetes.
Commandant B. Jayakrishnan of 105 RAF, Coimbatore will be Chief Guest for the program. Latha Sundaram, the Managing Trustee of Aram Foundation will be the Guest of Honour. Dr. P R Krishnakumar, the Chancellor of Avinashilingam University and the Managing Director of the Arya Vaidya Pharmacy Ltd. will be launching the 'Ayur Kovai Arokkiya 2019.'
Addressing the press, Dr. Soumit Kumar, the Director of AVP Research Foundation said, "AyuRun is being organised to propagate health and create awareness among all walks of life that health is a social responsibility. He also added that indigenous foods are good for healthy life and also requested people to plant some local herbs in their backyard."
