AIADMK flouts election rule by allowing minor girl to dance at campaign

Tirupur : The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Chairperson, Stuti Kacker, had recently written a letter to all the Presidents of major political parties raising concerns over the use of children in election campaigns.

Tirupur : The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Chairperson, Stuti Kacker, had recently written a letter to all the Presidents of major political parties raising concerns over the use of children in election campaigns.

The letter read, "It has been reported that children are often used in multifarious activities by various political parties during the election campaigns, which is in violation of the rights of children.”

After the election code of conduct was executed, the Tirupur Collector and Election Officer, K S Palanisamy had given clear instructions to not involve any minor below 18 years of age for any kind of election duties.

In spite of this, at the AIADMK campaign today, the party cadres organized a dance program for the crowd in which a 13-year old girl was made to dance on stage. The party cadres also danced on stage with the dance group which irked the public.

Earlier at the campaign rally, the Tamil Nadu Deputy CM, O Panneerselvam campaigned supporting the AIADMK candidate M S M Anandhan. He slammed the DMK saying, "When DMK was in power at the Centre and State, no one knows where they hoarded the 40,000 crores? Whether it was in the sea or in someone’s house, we do not know but it ended only in loss.

It was during DMK’s regime that the final verdict of Cauvery was out, but they did not publish it in the Gazette. Only Jayalalithaa fought for it in the Court and made them publish it in the Gazette. DMK was aware of the Sri Lankan war but no information was passed to the Tamilians living there which resulted in racial destruction. They claimed that the war was stopped because of fasting. But many people died only after that.

The DMK also staged violence against those who were asked to pay for the Biriyani and Parotta that they ate. 1.5 crore roots are deeply embedded in the banyan tree called AIADMK. Even your father Karunanidhi couldn’t destroy this, for you (Stalin) it is not at all possible.“ mocked O Paneerselvam.

“Whatever projects Amma brought in, is not being reduced, it is being provided in surplus. Within 2023, Tamil Nadu will become a state without huts.," added O Paneerselvam. Ministers Udumalai Radhakrishnan, Karuppannan and Sengotayyan were also present at the campaign.
