Since the day that the model code of conduct was implemented, the election flying squad conducted searches at various spots in the district. A total of 163 teams had been constituted for election duty. 18 flying squad teams had been appointed in Ooty, Coonoor and Gudalur, with 18 static surveillance teams and 10 video surveillance teams. It is pertinent to mention that no cash was seized from any political party during these vehicle checks.
