Tirupur : “Media freedom has been snatched, and progressive thinkers and writers have been murdered in the past five years of  BJP rule," slammed Ramakrishnan, the Thandhai Dravida Periyar Kazhagam’s General Secretary in a public rally at Tiruppur.

The campaign was held on behalf of Thandhai Dravida Periyar Kazhagam at Velliyangadu in Tiruppur in support of the Secular Progressive Alliance candidate, Subbarayan. “In the past five years of BJP rule, they not only created an economic crisis but also tradition, cultural and language crises. They have brought the Judicial department, Income tax department, Election Commission and Universities under their control,” alleged Ramakrishnan.

“Why is the IT department conducting raids in the houses of the opposition party members and not in the houses of the ruling party members? Freedom of media has been snatched and progressive thinkers like Kalburki, Dhabelkar and Gowri Lankesh have been killed in this rule," he alleged. "If Modi comes to power, next election is a question mark," he further added.
