Addressing the people gathered, he said, "The public are at the stage of deciding whom to vote for, to get their needs fulfilled with the help of funding from the State and Central governments. Both DMK and AIADMK were part of that party in the Centre, in the past. But people should think and vote in which party’s regime were schemes implemented."
"During the DMK’s regime from 2011-2016, power shortage was a persistent problem. Even Minister Arcot Veerasamy who was the Minister for Electricity at that time had stated that the ruling party may lose in the next election due to power shortage. As per his statement, DMK had lost in the next election," he recalled.
O Paneerselvam stated that "people had voted for AIADMK in the election after that since law and order had worsened. The waves of support for AIADMK were transformed into a 'tsunami' which pushed DMK into the sea and they have not recovered till date.
Though DMK was part of the Congress alliance for 10 years and though 9 members of the party were Central ministers, they did not bring in any proper scheme to Tamil Nadu. The Sedhu scheme was introduced due to the stubbornness of T R Balu since Rs.40,000 crores was wasted in the sea."
"The AIADMK government has brought a GO from Supreme Court following its legal battle. The late former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is the one who brought many schemes into the State which are now being implemented by our present Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy. AIADMK provides safety for the minority people.
The PM is functioning tirelessly to make our country powerful. He also played a major role in removing the obstacles in the Jallikattu issue and helped in conducting 'Jallikattu.' The Central Government has also been funding the construction of AIIMS," he added further.
"M K Stalin’s claim that AIADMK will vanish after the parliamentary election is nothing but a joke. None can destroy this party which has 1.50 crore cadres. DMK had implemented a violence culture when they were in power and also at the time when they were the opposition party. People should cast their votes for the BJP candidate C P Radhakrishnan," he reiterated.
The Local Body Administration Minister S P Velumani was also present at the campaign in Olympus.
