Though the meeting was scheduled for 10 am, party cadres thronged 80 feet road since 9 am. In a bid to calm the crowd, continuous announcements were made saying, "OPS is on the way and will be arriving shortly.” The police were hard pressed trying to divert vehicles to move in one direction while blocking the other side of the road.
Hundreds of vehicles from Sungam were stranded in the traffic snarl. The public too were inconvenienced having to wait for long hours at the bus stops. Party cadres and public were agitated with the Deputy CM's late arrival.
