Coimbatore : The Tamil Nadu Government has transferred SP Pandiarajan of Coimbatore for disclosing the identity of the victim in the Pollachi sexual abuse case. He has been relegated to a waiting list until further orders.
Coimbatore : The Tamil Nadu Government has transferred SP Pandiarajan of Coimbatore for disclosing the identity of the victim in the Pollachi sexual abuse case. He has been relegated to a waiting list until further orders.
ADSP Pandiarajan was known for being embroiled in controversial cases. Earlier, he had slapped a woman who had protested against a TASMAC outlet in Tiruppur. In spite of this, he was promoted as SP of Coimbatore. When continuous sexual crimes were being committed against women, like the Pollachi sexual abuse case and the Thudiyalur minor girl rape and murder, SP Pandiarajan was drawing public ire for his inaction in the cases during his tenure as SP of Coimbatore.
Disclosing the identity of the Pollachi victim and allegedly supporting the AIADMK government were a few reasons for a case being filed in the High Court to take proper action against Pandiarajan. When this case came up for hearing last week, the State Government replied that departmental action will be initiated against him. Announcing that Pandiarajan has been transferred, the TN Government has now ordered to keep Pandiarajan in waiting.
The Assistant Commissioner of Transport, Coimbatore, Sujith Kumar has been appointed as the new SP. Pollachi DSP Jayaraman has been replaced by the DSP of Ooty Crime Branch Record, Sivakumar who will be the new DSP. Similarly, Pollachi Inspector (east) Natesan has been replaced by Venkataraman (Naxal Branch Special Inspector, Coimbatore) as the Pollachi Inspector(east).
