Coimbatore : With all political parties in full throttle on their campaigns ahead of the Lok Sabha polls on April 18, Makkal Needhi Maiam's (MNM) Vice President and the Coimbatore constituency candidate Dr. R Mahendran campaigned with passion at Thudiyalur, on Monday.
Coimbatore : With all political parties in full throttle on their campaigns ahead of the Lok Sabha polls on April 18, Makkal Needhi Maiam's (MNM) Vice President and the Coimbatore constituency candidate Dr. R Mahendran campaigned with passion at Thudiyalur, on Monday.
As announced earlier in the election manifesto of their party, Dr. Mahendran highlighted the basic facilities that need to be provided for the people in Thudiyalur. He also promised the locals that basic needs like drinking water and clean drainage system will be provided if MNM is voted to power. He also explained to people about the 'Coimbatore Vision 2024' that MNM has crafted for the people of Coimbatore and promised a timeline for providing these amenities as part of their poll promise.
"MNM will take necessary action to remove the two TASMAC shops which are operating very close to the bus stand and the market area," promised Dr. Mahendran stated. He requested people to vote for MNM, highlighting that MNM would work to develop infrastructure and basic facilities in the market.
With elections just around the corner and people looking for a change in the political atmosphere of Tamil Nadu, sources reveal that people are impressed with MNM's manifesto and their candidate selection.
As part of the campaign, MNM cadres distributed pamphlets highlighting the policies of the party and requested the public to vote for to herald in a change in politics. Since party chief, Kamal Haasan had announced that drinking water and rights of women take centrestage in MNM's manifesto, the party seems to have drawn positive response from both the public and social activists. It is to be noted that Kamal Haasan will be visiting Coimbatore on April 5 for election campaigning which is expected to provide a fillip to the party.
