The flower beds in the Ooty Rose Garden have turned resplendent with beauty and colours. Tourists this year are in store for a veritable treat for their eyes, with 50,000 rose plants and 4000 varieties of roses on display at the Ooty Rose Garden.
Rose plants are usually pruned in the month of February, ahead of the local summer season that brings in tourists by the thousands.
Similarly, this year, rose saplings were planted and pruned in nursery beds three months ago. The rose beds are in full bloom now, in various hues delighting both the tourist and the local. Owing to soaring temperatures in the plains, Ooty is expected to play host to a huge number of tourists this summer.
