Coimbatore: The flying squads have thus far seized RS. 1.74 crore from people who were carrying the cash without necessary documents. They had also seized 80 silk sarees, 1789 liquor bottles, Rs. 30,000 worth of banned tobacco products and a gun.
Officials from the squad told that the seized money was deposited in the treasury. However, the people from whom the money was seized could reclaim the cash by submitting adequate supporting documents.
