DSP Vijay Singh Meena (35), was on duty two days ago at platform No.1 when an elderly man attempted to get into the moving Thiruvananthapuram express which began to depart moments before.
The elderly passenger had unexpectedly slipped down and was dragged along in the direction of the train. Seeing this Vijay Meena Singh rushed to the spot and rescued the man.
This immediate action by the DSP has garnered appreciation from public. The incident was also recorded in the CCTV placed there.
Seeing the footage, officials from Salem Railway Division rewarded Vijay Singh Meena a cash reward of Rs. 500.
