Coimbatore : As many as 485 army recruits who sworn in today, paraded grandly at the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC), post training in Wellington in the Nilgiris today.
Apart from the youth in Tamil Nadu, youth from the neighbouring states including Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka underwent a rigorous 46-week training at the Madras Regimental Centre, in Wellington here. Post training, their parade was reviewed by the Major General G.S. Paikt. He also handed over the medals to four army men who excelled in the training.
Following the swearing in, soldiers are sent to the battalions allotted to them. Army officials, army men and parents of young soldiers also participated in the event.
