While campaigning for the AIADMK candidate for the Nilgiris constituency Thiyagarjan, Minister SP Velumani said, "M K Stalin and A Raja are the ones behind the death of Sadiq Basha. The late DMK Chief M Karunanidhi is the reason behind the massacre of Sri Lankan Tamil people".
"And, why is A. Raja of DMK whose home town is Perambalur even contesting in the Nilgiris?" he questioned.
"Prime Minister Modi is the one who protects the nation. Earlier, MGR used to forge an alliance with the party coming to power at the Centre. Only then we could gain welfare schemes," he opined.
"It is pertinent that AIADMK wins in the Nilgiris, as it is the district of 'Amma'. Hence, people should not fall prey to the statements of enemies and betrayers who are conspiring to put an end to the present regime. We could emerge victorious, if we work together as a family. Once the Lok Sabha elections are over, local body elections will be conducted. The Nilgiris AIADMK candidate will win with a majority of 3 lakh votes," he noted.
While Minister SP Velumani continued his speech on stage, many cadres left the spot for the biriyani which was all ready to be served. Seeing the cadres disperse, the Minister concluded his speech.
