Pollachi : A person who was accused on charges of assaulting the brother of the woman who lodged a complaint against Thirunavukkarasu and three others in the Pollachi sexual abuse case has been handed over to CB-CID for interrogation for four days.

The brother of a victim in the Pollachi sexual abuse case had filed a complaint with the Pollachi East police station on March 24. On the very next day, a few were arrested in connection to the case. On March 26, the friends of the accused assaulted the person who filed the complaint. Following this, based on his complaint, Senthil, Babu and Vasantha Kumar were arrested, whereas Bar Nagaraj had been granted bail and Mani remained absconded. Mani surrendered before the Chief Judicial Magistrate on March 25, following which the Magistrate remanded him under judicial custody until April 8.
Meanwhile, the CB-CID police filed a petition seeking 10 days custody of Mani for interrogation, following which the Magistrate Nagaraj granted four days custody of Mani. Following this, Manivannan was taken to CMCH for a medical examination before he was taken to a secret place for investigation. He will be produced before the Magistrate at 5 pm, on Monday.
