Coimbatore : As a show of solidarity and swift action for the minor's girls family to book the culprits responsible for the seven-year old girl's rape and murder, the founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) along with a legal team visited the victim's family this afternoon in Pannimadai, Coimbatore.
To provide legal support and stand by the victim's family in their grief, Kamal Haasan along with his legal experts arrived at the girl's home and offered their condolences to the victim's family. They urged the ruling government to take prompt action to arrest all the culprits involved in the heinous crime.
The parents, kin and the entire neighbourhood of the victim staged protests in the past few days demanding that for the arrest of the accused. The brutal nature of the crime against the seven-year old girl who was reportedly raped and murdered by a gang here in the city on Tuesday sent shock waves across the city. The rape of the minor girl received widespread condemnation, also from leaders of political parties with a few demanding death sentence for the accused.
The police are yet to reveal if they have arrested the accused or are still investigating to trace the actual culprits. A detailed post-mortem report is expected this evening.
