Coimbatore: Amidst many a nomination of independent candidates being rejected in Coimbatore district, two independent candidates, one in Coimbatore and another in Pollachi constituency have withdrawn their nominations.
Coimbatore: Amidst many a nomination of independent candidates being rejected in Coimbatore district, two independent candidates, one in Coimbatore and another in Pollachi constituency have withdrawn their nominations.
According to the statement released by the District Collector K Rajamani, yesterday, "Of the 38 people who filed their nominations to contest in Coimbatore constituency, the papers of 15 candidates were accepted after scrutiny, while that of 23 others were rejected. Of the 41 people who filed their nominations to contest in Pollachi constituency, the papers of 17 candidates were accepted after scrutiny, whereas the nominations of 24 candidates were rejected.
The list has been released after scrutinizing the nomination papers, yesterday. Today, being the last day for the nominees to withdraw their nominations, Ramalingam an independent candidate who filed his nomination to contest in the Coimbatore constituency has withdrawn his nomination. Sukumar, another independent candidate who filed his nomination in the Pollachi constituency has also withdrawn his nomination."
