Addressing the media, Piyush Goyal slammed that Congress is the cause for poverty in India.
"Rahul Gandhi's announcement of Rs. 72,000 for the people living below poverty line is nothing but to fool the people", he added.
Earlier, while addressing the party cadres, Piyush Goyal said, " Both Central and State governments are working towards the upliftment of the poor people and the farmers. As Modi himself was born in a poor family and worked as chaiwala Modi understands the pain of the poor people".
Piyush Goyal mentioned that ground-breaking schemes were introduced to safeguard the interest of the women, one is the toilets for all household and subsidised LPG cylinders.
He also pointed that during Modi's regime many interior villages were equipped with electricity facility, thus facilitating the education of rural children.
The railway minister further stated, "If the Central and State governments work hand-in-hand, it will ultimately lead to development. It is because of Narendra Modi, our neighbouring countries fear our presence and the surgical strike is an example for the statement."
Piyush Goyal also lauded the rural development minister, S.P.Velumani that he was the man behind the formation of the grand alliance.
C.P. Radhakrishnan in his earlier speech said ,"After amma's death the opposition parties dreamt that AIADMK will perish. But now a mega alliance has been formed. Modi's government has alloted more funds to Tamil Nadu than any other State"
"Soon, Coimbatore will get a world class bus stand and Airport. More cities in Tamil Nadu will be covered under the smart city project".
Vanathi Srinivasan, state BJP general secretary, AIADMK MLA Amman Arjunan and Hindu Makkal Katchi's Arjun Sampath were also present at the event.
