More than 3000 members of AIADMK and parties in alliance were present at the AIADMK candidates introductory function held in Mettupalayam today evening. Thiyagarajan, the candidate for the Nilgiris Parliamentary constituency was introduced to the public by Minister SP Velumani who said, "The whole nation is very keen on the Nilgiris constituency for many reasons".
"While AIADMK has fielded a person hailing from the constituency, DMK has fielded A. Raja who is from Perambalur. As none in DMK were ready to contest in the Nilgiris, they had to choose ex-minister Raja", he added.
"Not only did A.Raja defame his party's name in the 2G spectrum case but also defamed the nation. When the case is re-appealed Raja will go back to the prison", the Minister opined.
He also alleged that DMK is planning to contest the elections with the money they looted in the past.
"All the contestants of AIADMK grand alliance will emerge victorious. If BJP regains power in the centre, the Cauvery-Godavari river linkage scheme will be implemented and Mettupalayam, Karamadai and other places will be added in Avinashi-Athikadavu scheme" he noted.
